Urban Logistics Roundtable
India’s urban logistics sector is witnessing rapid transformation driven by the rise of e-commerce, quick commerce, and increasing demand for efficient last-mile delivery. As the ecosystem expands, challenges around address standardization, interoperability of platforms, and real-time visibility continue to persist.
Players and government-led initiatives such as ULIP (Unified Logistics Interface Platform) will be key to reducing inefficiencies and enabling seamless urban delivery experiences.
On April 26th 2025, under the leadership of Pranav Goel, Co-founder of Porter, the CII Unicorn Forum conducted its second virtual roundtable (RT) on Urban Logistics as a Catalyst for Consumer Tech Growth.

- The need to streamline GST classifications for two-wheelers and address taxation gaps, such as the 18% GST on logistics firms versus 5% on clients.
- Challenges around parking for logistics vehicles in dense urban zones.
- The importance of creating a unified EV charging ecosystem to support the logistics and mobility sector.
- Enabling auto passenger vehicles to transport goods to reduce costs and create additional livelihood opportunities.
- Addressing persistent issues around address standardization, platform interoperability, and real-time tracking to improve last-mile efficiency.
The roundtable concluded with broad alignment on priority policy interventions. These recommendations will be drafted, consolidated, and submitted to relevant stakeholders to strengthen India’s urban logistics ecosystem and support sustainable, inclusive growth.
